About the Owner and Artistic DirectorBonnie Garrity I graduated of Long Island Beauty School August 6, 1965. I work as a Hairstylist off and on until January 1980 when I opened a hair salon in the small town of Schenevus, New York. While I owned my salon I went to college and earned my teaching certification. Then in 1990, I started teaching cosmetology. With the great responsibility of teaching, I closed my salon.After missing the excitement of the salon, in 1999 I went back to work in the hair salon after school. My passion for the beauty industry has led to my next goal to open a Day Spa. In July of 2005 I signed a lease for a space at 19 Ford Avenue, Suite A, Oneonta New York. On October 1st 2005 we celebrated our Open House of Bonnie Jeanne’s Day Spa to the public. I am a licensed Cosmetologist and a Licensed Master Barber. I have been a volunteer for the Look Good Feel Better Program with the American Cancer Society helping patients who are recovering from cancer, and teaching them how to use makeup and to wear wigs to make them feel better. On November 6, 2006 I was trained and certified to be an area trainer for New York State. I will be training other licensed Cosmetologists to become Look Good Feel Better Reprepresentives. I am also A State Board Cosmetology and Nail Specialty Examiner for the State of New York. I’m a certified Look Good Feel Better Educator for the American Cancer Society. I have Attentended Alfred State College for the Advanced Cosmetology courses for four summers. I have reviewed several Chapters in the Newly revised addition of the 2008 Milay Cosmetology Text Book.August 2007 we relocated to our location to 25 Elm Street, Oneonta. At my Day Spa we strive to serve our clients in the most professional manner. We offer a variety of salon and spa services.
